10 cattle markets to be set up in Bajaur

BAJAUR: The district administration on Monday decided to establish at least 10 cattle markets in Bajaur for Eidul Azha.

The decision was made during a meeting of the senior officials of the district administration and other line departments.

According to a statement, the meeting chaired by Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Anwarul Haq decided that at least one cattle market would be established in each tehsil of the district on Wednesday.

Mr Haq directed the officials of tehsil municipal administration to choose the best sites for the cattle markets. The meeting also decided to establish some more new markets a couple of days before Eidul Azha.

PROTEST: All Bajaur Paramedical Association continued its protest sit-in for the fifth consecutive day here on Monday against health department for appointing a doctor as controller of medical facility.

Scores of paramedics from across the district participated in the sit-in held outside the office of the district health officer in Khar.

The participants of the sit-in chanted slogans against health department for appointing a doctor on the post of controller provincial medical facility.

AllBajaur ParamedicalAssociation presidentNazeer Khan Safi, general secretary Dost Mohammad and Salahuddin said on the occasion that as per rules and regulations, the post of controller medical facility was to be filled with a senior paramedic.

However, they alleged that health department recently appointed a doctor to the said post which was totally against the policy of the provincial government.

The leaders of All Bajaur Paramedical Association said the decision to appoint a doctor on the said post created unrest among hundreds of paramedics across the province.

They urged the high-ups of health department to revise the decision with immediate effect. They said that their protest would continue until the present controller of the medical facility was not replaced with a qualified paramedic.
