Woman, three daughters rescued after suicide bid

TOBA TEK SINGH: A woman, along with her three minor daughters, was rescued by locals and Rescue 1122 when she attempted to commit suicide in Jaranwala on Thursday.
A Rescue 1122 official said the woman jumped into the Gogera branch canal near Rescue 1122 station along with her three minor daughters. The official said the locals and rescuers saved allfour of them. The woman was identified as Kiran Bibi (38), wife of Afzal, a resident of Chak 108-GB, and her daughters as Tehmina (7), Zoya (5) and Noor (3).
The official said the woman was fed up with daily quarrels with her in-laws and she attempted to die by suicide.
DRUGS: The Airport Security Force (ASF) recovered 998 grams of heroin from a Dubai-bound passenger at the Faisalabad airport.
A press release said the scanner machine operator found the bag of Mohsin Zulfiqar suspicious and searched his luggage. The ASF staff found heroin hidden in secret compartments of the bag. The Jaranwala City police registered the FIR on the complaint of Dr Sharafat Ali who alleged that he, along with Dr Arsalan and security guard Rehan, was on duty when Adeel Siddig of Chak 138GB along with a man and a woman attacked them during checkup of a child.
He claimed that attackers tortured them and ransacked the hospital.
