LOWER DIR: Jamaat-iIslami provincial information secretary Engineer Hafiz Yaqoobur Rehman has voiced concern over non-appointment of teachers at Government Girls Higher Secondary School Shatai Dara, tehsil Balambat.
He visited the school on Wednesday. He was accompanied by local elders including village council member Dilawar Khan and former tehsil nazim Advocate Imranuddin. He said that although the school was upgraded in 2017 to higher secondary level by the then JI lawmaker, intermediate classes were yet to commence in it owing to shortage of teaching staff. He criticised provincial government and education department for their failure to take timely action in that regard. He said that if teachers were not appointed in the school and classes were not initiated immediately, locals would be forced to stage protests.
`The delay is a clear denial of girls` right to education,` he said. He said that Jamaat-i-Islami would not tolerate any negligence in education sector and would continue to fight for the rights of students.
Dilawar Khan and Advocate Imranuddin termed education a basic right of every child and called for immediate intervention by officials concerned. Correspondent
