LAHORE: The Jamaatud Dawa (JuD) took out a Kashmir Caravan from the provincial capital here on Tuesday to show solidarity with the Kashmiris facing Indian forces` violence in India-held Kashmir.

Activists on hundreds of vehicles, led by JuD chief Hafiz Saeed, will arrive at Islamabad`s D-Chowk on Wednesday afternoon where a public meeting will be held.

In Lahore, JuD activists assembled outside Masjid Shuhada on The Mall where Hafiz Saeed and leaders of other religious outfits spoke to them.

Hafiz Saeed supported the four-point formula presented by All-Party Hurriyat Conference leader Syed Ali Geelani and vowed to take it to the comity of nation as a just resolution for the Kashmir dispute between Pakistan and India.

He said it was the first phase of the caravan to show solidarity with the Kashmiri brethren, and in the second phase they would go up to Muzaffarabad and Chalcothi.

He said Islamabad had lost confidence of the Kashmiris at the cost of winning confidence of New Delhi. He said through the caravan they wished to give a message that the Pakistani nation was standing by its Kashmiri brothers.

Jamaat-i-Islami general secretary Liaquat Baloch said the martyrdom of Burhan Wani and atrocities of occupied Indian forces triggered a new wave of freedom in Kashmir.

He criticised the silence of international bodies at the violations of human rights in India-held Kashmir but hoped that sacrifices of Kashmiris would not go wasted.
