KARACHI: Administrator of Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) Dr Syed Saif-ur-Rehman expressed grave concerns over the poor performance of the revenue recovery departments of the municipal utility, and issued show-cause notices to different department heads and other officers concerned.

Official sources said that the KMC administrator presided over a meeting of senior officials of the KMC`s revenue department at his office on Thursday where he warned the departmental heads that they would be removed from their respective posts if they failed to bring improvement in their work.

The meeting was attended by financial adviser Dr Asghar Shaikh, senior director coordination Masood Alam, director technical S.M. Shakalb and other officers.

Dr Saif-ur-Rehman said that every department must focus on achieving its revenue target so that financial conditions of the municipal utility would improve.

He asked the officers concerned to submit new proposals for increasing revenue and to ensure the revenue meeting was held every month.

During the meeting, the director of katchi abadis, estates and others presented the revenue position and recoveryofrevenue.
