SHIKARPUR: District and Sessions Judge Suhail Mohammad Laghari has dismissed seven clerks and one office superintendent of RBUT Civil Hospital Shikarpur over coming late on duty.
The judge visited the hospital on Thursday in the wake of the deaths of two minors due to gastroenteritis at the village of Qadir Bakhsh Pahore, Khanpur tehsil, district Shikarpur. The victims were identified as 10-month-old baby Kalsoom and four-year-old baby Amina.
During his visit, parents of the admitted children complained that a number of people were suffering from gastro at the village of Dr Mohammad Ibrahim Jatoi and other villages and of them only six children were admitted in the hospital.
Mr Laghari ordered District Health Officer (DHO) Dr Zulfikar Abro to send medical teams towards the affected villages and provide them medical facility at their doorsteps. He also directed the civil judge of Khanpur to visit the affected village in the larger interests of the patients.
He expressed anger over mixing of oral rehydration salt (ORS) in drinking water tank and lack of cleanliness in the children ward and issued orders to relieve office superintendent [OS] Fatah Mohammad Abro, and clerks Hussain Bakhsh Jatoi, Ali Sher Marfani, Ubedullah Mahar, Salman Soomro, Hidayat Ali Shah, Mohammad Aslam and Ubedullah Kakepoto over arriving late to work.
He also visited medicine store and expressed his anger when he found that medicines were being given without stamping `not for sale` on them.
