Minister wants police hospital ready by December

ISLAMABAD: Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi has directed the authorities concerned to make the 252-bed Pakistan`s first modern police hospital functional by December.

During his visit to the underconstruction National Police Hospital at the Police Headquarters, the minster inspected the site and issued necessary directives to the authorities concerned.

Mr Naqvi stated, `This project was initiated by Ahsan Iqbal, and Insha Allah, I will see it through to completion.

All resources will be utilized to make the hospital functional by December, he added. The minister further directed that the finishing work of the hospital be completed swiftly.

Inspector General of Islamabad Police, Ali Nasir Rizvi, gave a detailed briefing to the minister, stating that the National Police Hospital isbeing built at a cost of Rs6.4 billion, and the started in June2023.

The grey structure of the252-bed hospital has already been completed. He also addedthat an institute is being established alongside the hospital to train more than 500 nurses.

DIG Security, Ali Raza, and other officials concernedwere also present on the occasion.

Meanwhile, interior minister held a telephonic conversation with DPO Hangu, Mohammad Khalid, who was injured during an operation against the Fitnai-Hindustan in Hangu. The Interior Minister inquired after him and lauded his courage.

DPO Khalid had sustained three bullet wounds during the operation.

Mr Naqvi said, `Under your leadership, the police team bravely sent nine terrorists of Fitna-i-Hindustan to hell.` The Interior Minister paid tribute to DPO Mohammad Khalid and his entire team for bringing the terrorists to a dreadfulend.

He also prayed for the swift recovery of the injured DPO Mohammad Khalid and SHO Nabi Khan, stating, `You are the pride of the nation and we are proud of you.
