By A Reporter 2015-08-20
ISLAMABAD: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) is going to start internal audit aimed at exposing the officials who allowed thousands of illegal billboards, advertising pylons and banners at half of the standard rent, causing revenue loss to the civicbody.

`The internal audit will expose the officials who allowed this illegal activity in the past,` a senior official of the CDA told Dawn.

`Currently the illegal billboards and banners are generating very small revenue for the CDA,` he said.

`We are regularly taking action against this illegal activity, now we are planning to conduct internal audit in this regard,` said Ramzan Sajid, the spokesman for the CDA.

Talking to Dawn, Director Directorate of Municipal Administration (DMA) Shahbaz Tahir agreed that the advertisers did not pay rent to the CDA, but we issue them notices.`The holders of some illegal billboards get stay order form the courts,` he said.

Meanwhile, a special DMA team on Wednesday removed illegal advertisements including billboards, advertising pylons and banners from F-6, F-7 sectors, F-10 Markaz, Islamabad Expressway, Kashmir Highway and G-12 areas.
