Five killed in separate incidents in Taxila, Attock

TAXILA: Five persons, including two women, were killed and three others were injured in separate incidents in various parts of Attock and Taxila on Saturday, police and rescue sources said.

In the first incident, a woman was killed and her daughter and husband were injured near the Pindigheb town of Attock.

Hospital and rescue sources said Mohammad Asif, a native of Gangawali, trespassed into the motorway on a motorcycle with his wife and a minor daughter on the pillion and was crossing it when a speeding car hit them.

As result, the woman died on the spot while Asif and his two-year-old daughter were injured critically. The injured were shifted to the Tehsil Headquarters Hospital, Pindigheb.

Moreover, a man was killed whilehis friend was injured critically when a speeding dumper knocked them on Bhattar road in the limits of Fatehjang police.

Police sources said local social figure Lala Hasim Khan along with his friend Aslam Khan, both natives of Jand, were going on his motorcycle when the dumper hit them at Neeka bridge. The dumper driver managed to escape.

In another incident, a man shot dead his second wife over a domestic dispute in Hamza Town in the limits of model police station Attock on Saturday.

Noman Akram reported to the police that his sister Medhia Akram contracted marriage four years ago with Sajjad Haider which was his second marriage. He said Mr Haider shot dead his sister with his pistol over a domestic dispute.

Moreover, a man set on fire his brother-in-law for subjecting his sister to domestic violence in Mohallah Shaheedabad in the limits ofHassanabdal police.

Police while quoting the family of the victim said Sajid poured petrol over his brother-in-law identified as Qurban Ali and set him on fire and later surrendered himself to the police.

The man was admitted to a local hospital with 70 per cent burn injuries where he died.

Separately, a teenage boy committed suicide by hanging himself with ceiling fan in his room located in a private housing society near Margalla in the limits of Taxila police. Police sources said Mohammad Irfan, 17, a native of Sargodha, was working as an office boy at a property office in the housing society and was in distress over financial condition.

On Saturday morning, when all his roommates were sleeping, he committed suicide.

Meanwhile, Jand police solved a murder case and arrested three persons, among them two brothers.

According to the police spokesman,Malika Shaheen reported to police that the marriage procession of his brother was ready to depart when his body was found floating in the village pond.

Police registered a murder case against unknown assailants as during autopsy it was revealed that the man was subjected to torture and later his body was thrown in a pond.

The spokesman has said that the police investigation team on suspicious activities of deceased cousin, Tariq Mahmood, his brother Khalid Mehmood and friend Khazir Hayat taken into custody who during inter-r o g a t i o n have confessed that they killed over a property dispute and later threw his body into the pond.
