SHANGLA: Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam-Fazl is likely to strike electoral alliance with other political parties for the next general elections in Shangla district.
This was announced by JUI-F district emir and provincial joint secretary Maulana Rahat Hussain while speaking at a meeting at the Shangla Press Club on Tuesday.
He urged party workers to prepare themselves for the general elections.
Party office-bearers from across the district attended the meeting.
Maulana Hussain said the JUI-F was likely to forge an electoral alliance or strike a seat-to-seat adjustment with other political parties to contest the next polls.
He criticised the provincial government for introducing new education act which, he said, would be opposed at the noor of the assembly because it was not in favour of teachers. He asked the government to withdraw the proposed legislation.
The party`s tehsil level emirs were assigned duties to ensure maximum participation of workers in the proposed public meeting of JUI in Swat district on Oct 8, which will be addressed by party chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman.
Party`s district general secretary Maulana Nizamuddin briefed the participants about the preparations for the general elections.
He said a 500-vehicle rally would take workers to the Swat public meeting.
The meeting also unanimously passed three resolutions, asl(ing the government to shun `anti-teachers and anti-private schools` policies, accept the genuine demands of pensioners, and take steps for stopping genocide of Muslims in Myanmar.
