Traffic plan for T20 matches announced

KARACHI: The traffic police on Monday announced a traffic diversion plan as part of security arrangements for the four matches to be played between Pakistan and England cricket teams from Tuesday till Sept 25.
A statement said that earlier general parking for match viewers was designated at Gharib Nawaz Ground near Dalmia and ground beside Hakeem Saeed Park on University Road, but it was later decided that there will be general parking only at the Expo Centre, from where spectators will be taken to the stadium by a shuttle service.
`To park their vehicle at designated parking places, they must have to show their original ticket and CNIC,` the statement said.
`Any kind of traffic coming from Liaquatbad No. 10, Hassan Square will not be permitted from Hassan Square to National Stadium. All vehicles will be diverted on University Road to reach their destination. From University Road to Expo turning, no vehicle will be allowed towards Stadium Road.
However, Stadium Road to Hassan Square routine traf fic will be allowed.
No heavy vehicles will be permitted to proceed from Sohrab Goth to NIPA, Liaquatabad No.10 to Hassan Square, Peoples Chowrangi to University Road, Karsaz to Stadium, Millennium to New Town, and Stadium Signal to Hassan Square.
