I LIVE in DHA and I had to go to Aga Khan Hospital on the evening of Oct16. I lef t my house around 6pm but reached the hospital in about three hours. Most city roads were closed and road blocks were set up over a much wider area than required. We could not use the shortestroute,ShareaFaisalas it was blocked to traffic before FTC.
Similarly, there were road blocks at five places till the Quaid`s Mazar. I had to double back and use the back lanes of Soldier Bazar to use the Jail Chowrangi route to get to Aga Khan.
It was strange there were no police or other ofñcials deployed toguide people about which routes were open.
I wonder why the government had to block traffic for the sake of a political party`s rally. Don`t they have a responsibility to the public who suf fers when such events are held.
