Police probe Rs120 million embezzlement in dairy farm

RAHIM YAR KHAN: Police have registered a case against three employees of a dairy farm on the charge of Rs120 million embezzlement.
According to the FIR No 504/19, dairy farm Deputy General Manager (Accounts) Abid Ali complained that senior manager veterinary Wasim Asghar, senior manager green foods Habib Sultan and civil engineer Malik Shahid had been found involved in embezzlement of goods and money worth Rs120 million.
When the organisation completed the audit of the company through an authorised committee on Oct 13 last, it transpired that Wasim Asghar was involved in Rs35 million embezzlement, Habib Sultan in Rs60 million embezzlement and Malik Shahid in Rs25 million case.
The suspects confessed to committing the crime before the audit committee and promised that they would return the money to the company.
Sources said police shifted the suspects to Lodhranfor further investigation.
The company`s deputy manager accounts did not attend the call.
Police spokesperson Arshad Nawaz told Dawn that he would contact after confirmation about the case.
HOUSING SCHEMES: The Municipal Committee (MC) has sealed the business offices of residential schemes and towns in the city.
MC sources told this correspondent on Saturday that owing to incomplete registration process, six housing schemes had been sealed. They are Pearl City Housing Scheme, Superior Town Housing Society on Makhdoom Altaf Road (canal bank), Taiba Housing Scheme, Township Housing Scheme, Ittefaq Town on Shahbazpur Road and Lalazar Housing Scheme on Zoo Road.
The committee has written letters to the police stations for registration of FIRs against the owners of three other illegal housing schemes and announced ban on sale and purchase of plots. The housing schemes are Ibrahim Town and Alhuda Housing Scheme near Bypass Road and Umair Villas in Jinnah Park Street No 1.
