ATC discharges PTI lawyer in violence case

LAHORE: An anti-terrorism court on Saturday discharged a lawyer of the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) from a case of violence related to Oct 6 protest and sent three activists tojail for their identification parade.

The police presented Advocate Zameer Ahmad Chedu and others before the court seeking permission to shift them to jail for identification parade.

Scores of PTI lawyers, present on the court premises, chanted slogans in favour of their arrested fellow.

ATC Judge Irfan Haider turned down the police request to the extent of the lawyer, however, allowed it to shift three suspects to jail for their identification parade.

The suspects are Muhammad Usman, AdnanKaramat and Sanaullah.

The judge also granted three-day physical remand of another suspect, Irfan alias Shano.

The cases were registered by Lorry Adda, Masti Gate, Islampura and Shafiqabad police on charges of attacking police personnel and damaging public and private properties.
