KARACHI: A man was killed allegedly by his brother in the name of socalled honour in Ibrahim Hyderi on Saturday.

Police said that the victim, Ali Akbar, was axed to death by his younger brother at Juma Goth near Husaini Imambargah.

Area SHO Fahadul Hasan told Dawn that the suspect, Allah Dino, had fled after the incident but was arrested later on andthe axe used in the murder was recovered.

The officer said the suspeet had `confessed` killing his elder brother and told the police that Akbar had alleged illicit ties with his wife. He had also shared this information with the family members to prevent his elder brother from doing so but he did not listen, the SHO added.

The body was shifted to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre for medico-legal formalities.
