KARACHI: Over half a dozen robbers stormed a private banl< in Gulistan-iJauhar and took away Rs375,000 on Wednesday morning, according to officials.

The police said the suspects arrived at JS Bank branch located in Gulistan-iJauhar Block-7 at around 9:45am. They snatched two pistols from two bank guards identified as Ghulamuddin and Rizwan Gul and took away Rs375,000, according to Gulishan-i-Jauhar SHO Javed Jalbani.

They snatched three mobile phones from the staff and also took away CCTV footage, said the officer.

The SHO said the private bank had not followed the Standard Operating Procedure prepared by the State Bank of Pakistan for banks to check robberies, as the guards were not deployed inside a bunker in the bank.

Killed in Lyari In another incident, a young man was gunned down in the Chakiwara area on Wednesday.

Mansoor Mehrab was killed by gangsters in Singulane, police said.
