KHYBER: Two policemen were injured in a late night militant attack on a police post in Bara tehsil here on Saturday.

A statement issued from the district police officer`s office in Jamrud said that suspected militants carried out the attack on Kuhi checkpost late in the night, which resulted in injuries to two policemen, identified as constables Sherzada and Mir Wali.

It said that the police retaliated with intense firing, which forced the attackers to flee. A search operation was also later conducted, but no arrests could be made.

The injured policemen were shifted to a hospital for treatment.
