PESHAWAR: The Federal Investigation Agency`s Commercial Banking Circle on Saturday arrested four persons for allegedly runningillegalcurrency exchange.

Officials said that the arrests were made during a raid in the provincial capital`s Chowk Yadgar.

They were identified as Siraj Wali, Asmat Afridi, Siraj Ahmad and Mohammadullah.

Local and foreign currency worth Rs20.1 million was recovered from their possession.

The officials said Saudi riyals 1,100 and Qatri riyals 1,000 were also recovered from them. The raiding team also recovered documents for maintaining the illegal business.

A case was registered against the accused under relevant sections of the Foreign Exchange Regulations Act, 1947.
