GUJRAT: The security in-charge of Kunjah House, the residence of former chief minister Chaudhry Parvez Elahi and his son MNA Moonis Elahi, has filed a writ petition with a local court for registration of a case against senior officers of Gujrat police and administration for conducting a raid on the house on Feb 6.

The petition, filed by Muhammad Riaz before the court of Additional District and Sessions Judge Irfan Saeed, seeks registration of a case against Gujrat DPO Asad Muzaffar, SP investigations Muzamil Hussain, 11 other officials and about 180 policemen for conducting the raid without any legal authority.

The petitioner alleged that the raiding police had forcibly entered the house, conducted a thorough search and took away telephone exchange, important documents, cash and other valuables. The judge issued notices to the Punjab Police to present a report on the alleged incident on Feb 28, the next date of hearing.-Correspondent
