NAB chief briefed on status of cases

KARACHI: National Accountability Bureau (NAB) chairman Qamar Zaman Chaudhry visited the institution`s Karachi bureau and received a briefing on the status of various cases, a press release issued here on Friday said.

Karachi NAB director general retired Lt-Colonel Siraj-ul-Naeem, along with his team, informed him that in all the bureau was handling 311 cases out of which 231 cases were at the inquiry level and another 80 were under investigation.

They included the Steel Mills, ISAF (International Security Assistance Force) and National Bank of Pakistan cases.

He informed the NAB chief that 25 complaints regarding 28,802 commercial and one regarding 3,542 non-commercial containers were filed by FBR. NAB filed 57 references in the accountability courts on FTO report.

According to him, the trial in the ISAF cases is at an advance stage.
