KARACHI: An antiterrorism court issued on Thursday a show-cause notice to the Sindh home secretary for not complying with its order in a case pertaining to a deadly attack targeting a police station in 2004.
During the previous hearing, the court had directed the provincial home secretary to produce 11 condemned prisoners, currently conhned at the Hyderabad prison, before it for trial in the present case.
The same accused have also been booked for allegedly storming the Gulistani-Jauhar police station in April 2004 and killing a sub-inspector and four policemen.
When the case came up for hearing before the ATC-VI judge, who is conducting the trial inside the central prison, the home secretary remained unable to ensure the presence of the condemned prisoners.
The court issued a showcause notice to the secretary for May 15 and also summoned him in person on the next hearing.
