RAHIM YAR KHAN: Five wagons of a sleeper train derailed near the Khanpur railway station on Tuesday evening.

The rail traffic remained suspended on down railway track for many hours.

According to railway sources KYC goods train loaded with railway sleepers was going to Karachi from Lahore when its five wagons derailed at the Khanpur railway station when axle of a wagon broke.

Khanpur station master Abdul Sattar said derailment caused disruption of traffic on down track.

He said the relief train was called from Rohri which would arrive after three hours and then down track would be restored.
