ISLAMABAD: The management of Islamabad Model College for Boys G-7/2, alma mater of incumbent director general of Federal Directorate of Education (FDE), has requested for construction of the college`s boundary wall.

Through an official letter, the principal of college recently requested FDE for the construction of boundary wall.

Subsequently, FDE directed Project Management Unit (PMU), which is executing a project for upgrading infrastructure of schools and colleges, PMU toaddress this college`s issue as well.

The letter, which was sent by FDE to PMU, stated: `Reference is made to the letter dated January 31, 202s, received from principal. Wherein the principal has apprised that the 200-feet section of college`s boundary has collapsed,thatisposingserioussecurity and safety concerns for students and staff. It is therefore requested to facilitate the institution in managing the matter at your end for further necessary action,` read the letter, a copy of which was also shared with principal.Notably, the college is alma mater of Joint Secretary Education Syed Junaid Akhlag, who is also holding additional charge of DG FDE. When contacted, he said that Ministry of Education and FDE had renovated and upgraded almost all schools and colleges of Islamabad.

`I was not aware about wall collapsing of this college, we will surely help college management in reconstruction of wall, he said and added that he would himself contact college principal to get required information.-Staff Reporter
