PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa police chief Zulfiqar Hameed has approved establishment of two more traffic police stations in the provincial capital.
Traffic police spokesperson Shahad Khan said that there was a single traffic police station in Peshawar that catered to the needs of the entire district. He said that services would improve with the establishment of two more traffic police stations.
He said that Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Haroon Rasheed Khan sent a proposal for establishment of two traffic police stations to police chief and Capital City Police Officer Qasim Ali Khan to improve the system. He added that the proposal was accepted.
A statement issued from the traffic headquarters said that the new police stations would be West Cantonment and Hayatabad traffic police stations.
`The new police stations will help to improve the system,` the statement quoted the CTO as saying. It added that the decision to establish more traffic police stations was meant to ease public issues and the department would continue to facilitate people. Bureau Report
