TAXILA: The Hassanabdal police on Friday claimed to have solved a murder of a woman and arrested her husband who confessed to killing her in the name of `honour`.

A few days ago, police had recovered a bullet riddled body of a woman from a deserted place near village Shahiya.

Addressing a press conference at her office, SDPO Hassanabdal circle ASP Ambreen Ali said the woman was a resident of Mardan.

During investigation it was revealed that the woman, a mother of four children, had eloped with her paramour and was living in Hassanabdal.

She said the police concluded that she might have been killed by her husband and took him into custody, who confessed to murdering her.

Police have recovered the murder weapon from him, the ASP said.
