KHAR: All Bajaur Political Parties Alliance, an association of local political and religious parties, on Saturday announced to launch a protest movement against federal government from May 25 for delaying Fata reforms.
Speaking at a press conference, the alliance leaders said that the government`s move to delay the approval of muchawaited Fata reforms bill in the National Assembly had disappointed them and they had decided to launch a protest movement from May 25 to put pressure for early implementation of the said reforms.
Those who spoke on the occasion included the alliance president Qari Abdul Majeed, Said Ahmed Jan, Khalilur Rehman, Khan Bahadar, Maulana Waheed Gul, Mohammad Hayyan, Rahat Yousaf, Gul Kareem, Anwarul Haq and Zargul Khan. The alliance leaders were of the view that delaying Fata reforms bill in the National Assembly at the behest of two anti-reform politicians was unjustified.
They pointed out that the move to delay the reforms had disappointed the people of Fata as they had great expectation from the government to pass the bill in the recent session of the National Assembly. They also criticised the prime minister for postponing the legislation, saying that it had exposed the delaying tactics of the PML-N government.
The alliance leaders said that on the one hand the federal government was claiming to bring positive changes in tribal areas, while on the other it had postponed the legislation in this regard.
