Four new police stations made functional

RAWALPINDI: Four new police stations have been made operational with a First Information Report (FIR) registration system and a front desk to facilitate the residents of their respective areas.

A spokesman for the police said on the directives of senior police officers, the new police stations had been made operational. The FIR registration system has been provided in all the four police stations along with the front desks.

He said that now case registration facilities at Dhamial, Pahguari, Patriata and Chakri police stations have been made available.

The new police stations were established inthe remote areas of Murree, Pahguari, Patriata and Dhamial and Chakri.

At Pahguari police station, on the request of a citizen the first FIR was hled under the provision of theft while in Dhamial police station action was taken against drug menace and the first FIR also registered.

The spokesman said that the practical operation of new police stations would not only benefit the citizens but also help in ef fective prevention of crime.

`According to the vision of IGP Rao Sardar Ali, providing timely, ef ficient and best policing facilities to the citizens is the first priority,` he added.

Meanwhile, the IGP on Friday visited the Federal Investigation Agency`s headquarters and met its Director General Mohammad Tahir Rai.
