Robbers have field day in capital

ISLAMABAD: Robbers beat up two persons and molested another in separate incidents and looted cash and valuables in the city, police said on Friday.
Raja Naqash Kiani was intercepted by two persons on Islamabad Expressway who dragged him into the wooded area.
The robbers asked him to hand over cash and valuables and started beating him.
They then snatched cash and a mobile phone from him as well as his shoes.
In another incident, a robber in the disguise of a passenger booked a motorcycle ride to Farash Town from Pirwadhai. On the way, he picked up another person and af ter reaching Jagiot they held up the rider and took him to a deserted place and molested him. The suspects also took away his motorcycle, Rs2,200 and mobile phone.
Moreover, two armed men interceptedMohammad Noman at Jhangi Syedan, beat him up and robbed him of cash and mobile phones.
Three robbers held Wajahat Ali at gunpoint in I-10/3 and took away his motorcycle, Rs2,000 and a mobile phone. Two persons also robbed Ahmed Talha at Haji Camp of Rs22,000 and a mobile phone and Agib Nawaz of Rs9,000 in G-10.
Meanwhile, burglars broke into the shop of Hassan Nisar in Bahria Town and made off with Rs200,000 and a cash teller machine worth Rs400,000, the police said.
They also escaped with Rs70,000 and gold ornaments from the house of Asim Javaid in Alipur. Burglars broke into a shop at Soan Garden and took away hardware items worth Rs100,000 while thieves stole Rs25,000 and a mobile phone from a shop at G-9/2. Staf f Reporter
