MANSEHRA: The main Mansehra-NaranJalkhad Road remained blocked for hours on Saturday when water from a swollen nullah flooded it in Battle area of Kaghan valley, tourists complained on Monday.

They criticised the National Highway Authority for failing to reconstruct a bridge over the nullah after the same was washed away in last year`s flash floods.

`Most cars and even heavy vehicles got stuck while crossing this patch amid heavy flow of water caused by melting of snow from a nearby mountain,` Mohammad Adnan, a tourist from Gujrat, told reporters.

He said local authorities received multiple taxes from visitors thronging the scenic Kaghan valley from across the country and abroad, but cared little about the trouble they faced while crossing the road in Battle area.

Roidad Khan, a tourist from Islamabad, said his car was stuck in water and his family was removed from it by the onlookers.

`Bad condition of the road makes our journey to this scenic valley soar,` Mr Khan quipped.

Hassan Deen, chairman of hoteliers association, Kaghan, denounced the delay in reconstruction of the bridge on this mainartery, which was affecting the tourists` flow to the valley.

`The departments concerned should reconstruct this bridge without delay to ensure smooth flow of traffic between Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and GilgitBaltistan, Mr Deen said.

NADRA OFFICE: Jamiat Ulema-i-IslamFazl district general secretary Maulana Nasar Mehmood on Saturday said the National Database and Registration Authority (Nadra) will establish an office in Dodial area next week.

`Our party has got the approval of Nadra office in Dodial, which is expected to be inaugurated soon,` he said while speaking to reporters in Ichrian area here.

Flanked by party`s office-bearers, Mr Mehmood said people were facing enormous difficulties in reaching Nadra central office in Mansehra city. `Now they would easily get their national identity cards and other documents at their doorstep,` Mr Mehmood said.

Meanwhile, former Oghi tehsil deputy nazim Hafiz Mohammad Yunus has denounced the suicide attack on Jamaat-iIslami`s central emir Sirjul Haq`s convoy in Balochistan.

He said the country was already reeling from economic and political crises, and now the law and order situation had also deteriorated.
