ISLAMABAD: Expressing surprise over Indian Foreign Minister Sushma Swaraj`s statement that some forces were hindering improvement of relations between Pakistan and India, Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan said on Monday that Hindu extremist groups like Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh, Abhinhav India and Shiv Sena, having links with and influence over the Indian government, were the biggest obstacle in the way of smooth bilateral ties.`She should have clearly named the forces hindering normalisation of relations between the two countries, Chaudhry Nisar said in a statement issued here.

He said if Ms Swaraj was serious and determined to improve the relations she should not have indulged in political point-scoring and should have avoided making vague remarks.

Chaudhry Ni sar said that if the Indian government was serious about restoring ties with Pakistan it should not have closed doors of dialogue for a long period. He said India`s so-called desire for friendly relationship with Pakistanwas reflected in each and every word uttered by Prime Minister Narendra Modi during his recent address to a joint session of US Congress.

The interior minister said relations of the prime minister of Pakistan with any country or head of state or government were linked with national interests and it was not appropriate for the Indian foreign minister to give them a personal colour.

Ms Swaraj had referred to the relations between Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and Mr Modi and said that some forces were hindering improved relations between the two countries.
