KARACHI: A 50-year-old homeopath belonging to the Ahmadi community was shot dead inside his clinic off Abul Hasan Ispahani Road on Monday, in the second such attack in the area within a month, police said.

According to Malir SSP Rao Anwar, Dr Chaudhry Abdul Khaleeg sustained a bullet wound on his head during the attack in his clinic located in the Sikandar Goth, which falls within jurisdiction of the Sachal police station.

He said it seemed to be a sectarian attack because the victim belonged to a minority community.

A spokesman for the Jamaat-i-Ahmadiya confirmed that Dr Khaleeg belonged to the Ahmadi community.

He said that another member of the community, called Daud, was gunned down recently in the same area, not far from Dr Khaleeq`s clinic.
