Lightning kills three in Shangla, one in Mansehra

S H A N G L A / MANSEHRA: Lightning killed three people in Shangla`s Lelonai hilly area and one person in Mansehra on Thursday.
In Shangla, three cousins died and another onewas injured after they were struck by lightning in the hilly area of Lelonai.
According to the district administration, the four men were grazing their five buffaloes when they were hit by lightning during heavy rain in Lelonai village ofAlpuri tehsil.
According to the local people, bodies of the deceased and an injured were brought to the DHQ hospital, Alpuri.
They deceased were identified as Ziaul Haq, Azizul Haq and Shakirullah and an injured Ikramullah, who was referred to Saidu Teaching Hospital in Swat.
The locals said that thefive buffaloes were also killed in the incident.
Meanwhile, the district administration has sent a team to visit the affected family.
In Mansehra, thunderstorm followed by lightning and rain claimed life of a man here on Thursday. Mohammad Afzal, a farmer, was busy watering crops in his fields in Baffa Doraha area when lightninghit him.
As a result, he received critical burns and was taken to King Abdullah Teaching Hospital where doctors pronounced him dead.
The rain lashedMansehra and other parts of the district bringing a pleasant change in the weather.
Strong winds also damaged crops in Baffa, Siren, Pakhwal and other parts of the district.
