Teen girl abducted, raped

BAHAWALPUR: A 13-year-old girl, who was allegedly abducted from Qasim Bela, Multan, and was raped for many days by a man, returned home after managing to escape from her abductor.
The girl`s parents told the media in Multan on Friday that their daughter `F` was allegedly abducted by `S`.
They alleged that the suspect, a friend of the girl`s father, drugged `F` and took her to Chichawatni, where he detained her and sexually abused and raped her for many days.
They said that `F` managed to escape from illegal confinement and returned home.
Her father said that he reported the matter to the Multan Cantonment police, but they refused to register the case saying it would be registered by Chichawatni police. The parents insisted that the case should be registered by Multan Cantonment police as thegirl was abducted in their jurisdiction.
They said the girl`s medical examination has confirmedrape.
GAGGING ORDERS: The Punjab government has issued gagging orders for 24 firebrand speakers and banned the entry of 12 others in Lodhran district ahead of Muharram to maintain law and order.
This was announced at a media talk by retired Brig Babar Allauddin, chairperson of Chief Minister`s Inspection, Surveillance and Monitoring Directorate in Lodhran on Friday. He was accompanied by Lodhran Deputy Commissioner Dr Lubna Nazir and District Police Officer Ali Bin Tariq.
According to a handout, Mr Allauddin said that the action against the speakers has been taken to discourage the fanning of sectarian hatred in view the up-coming Muharram, which warranted amity and brotherhood.
Lodhran DC and DPO said that fool-proof securitymeasures would be taken to ensure peace during Muharram across the district.
IMPERSONATORS BOOKED: Bahawalpur Civil Lines police booked three impersonators on charges of fraudulently extorting Rs2 million from a man for vacating his lands in Liaquatpur.
According to FIR No 721/25 registered under sections 420, 170 and 171 of the PPC on the complaint of one Yousaf Akram Abbasi, three suspects Sajjad Fazal, Junaid khan and Zubair, impersonating a security agency`s officials, fraudulently deprived him of over Rs2mon the pretext of getting him possession of his lands in Liaquatpur.
The complainant said as the impersonators failed to get him the land possession, he demanded his money back but they refused to return it and threatened him of dire consequences.
Acting on the complaint, the police registered the case against the suspect, without any arrest so far.
