City receives scattered rain

LAHORE: Parts of the city received light rain on Saturday while the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) predicted heavy monsoon rains with strong winds in most districts of the province from July 22 till 25.

The maximum rain was recorded at 2mm each in NishterTown and Johar Town while light r ain was reported in Model Town, Faisal Town, Jail Road, Airport, Gulberg, Upper Mall, Chowk Nakhuda and Gulshan-e-Ravi.

A PDMA spokesperson said there were chances of wind and heavy rain in most of the districts of South Punjab during July 23 to 24.

The rainfall is expected in Rawalpindi, Attock, Jhelum, Chakwal, Mandi Bahauddin,Gujarat, Gujranwala, Hafizabad, Wazirabad, Lahore, Sheikhupura, Sialkot, Narowal, Sahiwal, Jhang, Toba Tek Singh, Nankana, Faisalabad, Sargodha, Bhakkar and Mianwali.

The spokesman said the rain was also expected in south Punjab districts including Bahawalpur, Bahawalnagar, Dera Ghazi Khan, Multan, Khanewal, Lodhran, Muzaffargarh, Kot Addu,Rajanpur, Rahim Yar Khan and Leh are also likely to receive rain.

The Met Office in Lahore issued hot and humid weather forecast in most districts of Punjab province. However, rainwindstorm/thundershower is expected at isolated places in Sialkot, Narowal, Gujrat, Gujranwala, Layyah, Bahawalpur, Dera Ghazi Khan and Taunsa districts on Sunday.
