Police `solve` murder mystery of varsity student

TOBA TEK SINGH: The police claimed to have solved the mystery surrounding the murder of a 19-year-old student and arrested her relative (cousin) on Sunday.

Kinza, a student of Agriculture University Rawalpindi, was returning home by bus to her hometown.

However, her body was found on a roadside in Jhang on Faisalabad Road on Saturday.

In his FIR registered under sections302,376,201and 34 ofthe PPC, complainant Anwar Ali of Chak 232-JB claimed that accused Tayyab Idrees wanted to marry his deceased daughter but she had rejected his proposal. He claimed that when she returned by bus from Rawalpindi, the accused luredher into his car and later raped and poisoned her. The complainant said that the accused threw her body and luggage outside the village.

The Jhang Satellite Town police claimed that the accused had confessed to the murder.

ELECTROCUTED: Two men were electrocuted in Chak 76/15-L Balochan Wala in Mianchannu tehsil, Khanewal on Sunday.

According to the Chab Kalan police, deceased worker Shoaban (35) was working at an under-construction house when he received an electric shock by a pedestal fan after touching it.

Seeing this, house owner Shahzad attempted to rescue him but he also received an electric shock. As a result, both men died instantly.

ACCIDENT: A labourer died after a heavy piece of timberfell on him near Chiniot Mor on Faisalabad Road, Jhang on Sunday.

Reports said deceased Zulfiqar (59) was unloading timber from a trailer when a heavy piece suddenly slipped and landed on him. He died instantly as a result.

ARRESTED: A Faisalabad Crime Control Department (CCD) team claimed to have arrested a proclaimed offender in an year-old murder case from Dubai with the help of Interpol.

Faisalabad CCD in-charge Syed Iram Raza Bukhari said that a murder case was registered against accused Muhammad Ilyas by D-Type Colony police a year ago and he was also wanted in seven other cases. She said the accused had disappeared from Faisalabad and the CCD recently found out about his whereabouts in Dubaiand arrested him with the help of Interpol.

Meanwhile, the police claimed the owner of the farm turned out to be the killer of a farm help, who he claimed was murdered a day earlier by dacoits.

The Bachiana police claimed that farm owner Muhammad Asif, in his confession, said that he had an argument with his servant, Waris Ali, and he shot and killed him. The police said the accused later called them and said that Waris was killed by robbers for resisting an attempt to steal solar panels from the farm.

BRIBE: The Faisalabad FIA arrested a Fesco Civil Lines division executive engineer for taking bribe.

A press release said EXEN Muhammad Waqas had allegedly allowed electricity supplyto an unapproved housing scheme located on Sargodha Road, Faisalabad. It accused the official of granting the illegal connection after accepting a heavy amount as bribe. Raids were also being conducted to arrest his accomplices, it added.

BODY RECOVERED: A body hasbeenrecovered on Saturday night by rescuers from a plaza that caught fire in the MontgomeryBazaar,Faisalabad.

District Emergency Officer Zafar Iqbal said Nadeem Abbas (40), a resident of Satiana Chak 39 GB, had died of suffocation due to the smoke in the building. He said a search operation of the building had been completed.

He said the fire broke out in a yarn shop on the ground noor due to an electric short circuit.

He said the fire later engulfed the entirefour-storey plaza.
