APROPOS the letters on Qingqis appearing in these columns, I would like to highlight difficulties being faced by the public in Karachi.
Qingqis provide comfort to old people in reaching their workplaces and school and college going women and children.
Consequently, after the ban many men and women lost their jobs as they sit idle at home.
The government should have issued driving licenses to the drivers of Qingqis after verifying their age. The Qingqis shouldhave alsobeeninspectedby the Sindh government and necessary certificates of road worthiness issued after inspection of the vehicle.The Qingqis charges are cheaper and reasonable as compared with other modes of transport. It is requested that Qingqis be allowed to ply on roads to facilitate the public.
