KE`s charges

2015-09-21
I WAS appalled to receive my home bill for the month of August 2015. The unit price has been increased by a staggering 34pc for consumers using over 1,000 units.

They have done away with the sliding scale starting from 100 units upwards and have now started their scale from the first 700 units. I have enclosed a comparative chart for the months of July and August 2015 and if you so desire you can print the chart as well. The sliding scale until July would begin with Rs.5.79/unit for the first 100 units followed by Rs.8.11, Rs12.32, Rs15.07 and ending with Rs18 for the next 200, 400, 300, 200 and above 1,100 units respectively.

As of August, the scale starts from thefirst 700 units@ Rs16/unit and the next rate is Rs18/unit for consumption above 700 units.

This is daylight robbery; more so when the fuel cost has drastically been reduced.

To rub salt on our wounds, the performance of K-Electric is known to every citizen: deterioration, deterioration and still more deterioration.

Is there a government in this country to check this daylight robbery? What are the Federal government, the Sindh government and Nepra doing? Is this the government for the people, of the people and by the people or is it to safeguard the interest of private enterprises? Please wake up and safeguard the interest of the people and stop this thuggery.
