SIALKOT: MNA Chaudhry Armughan Subhani on Sunday distributed Rs0.5 million compensation cheques among families of those killed by the Indian shelling at Kundanpur along the Worl The cheques were given on behalf of the prime minister.
As many as 42 injured were given cheques worth Rs0.2m each.
Speaking to the participants at Kundanpur Village, Mr Subhani expressed solidarity withthe villagers and lauded their resilience.
He said the whole nation stood by the army. Subhani said the armed forces had full capabilities to defend every inch of the motherland.
MLA-AJK Chaudhry Muhammad Ishaq, PML-N leaders Sufi Muhammad Ishaq, Ilchlag Ahmed, Latif Waince and Rana Arif Iqbal Harnah were also present.
As many as 10 civilians had lost their lives and more than 46 others, including 22 women and children, suffered injuries in unprovoked Indian shelling in Sucheetgarh Sector on Aug 28.
