Plan ready to improve healthcare: minister

KARAK, Oct 20: Provincial health minister Shaukat Yousafzai has said that the government has prepared a comprehensive plan for improving healthcare facilities in the state run hospitals of the province. Talking to a delegation of local journalists here on Sunday, he said that provision of healthcare facilities to the masses was the top agenda of Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf led ruling coalition in the province. He said that the government was preparing welfare projects and the people would feel pleasant changes in that regard. The minister said that the elected representatives of PTI were not rulers but were servants of the masses as the government had changed the concept of rule. Mr Yousafzai said that it was government`s resolve to root out corruption from the departments and make Khyber Pakhtunkhwa a model province of the country. LOCAL BODIES ELECTIONS: MNA Akram Khan Durrani has said that holding of local government elections in the province in near future seemed impossible as the PTI-led government was still stuck in the village council issue. He was talking to mediapersons during his short stay here on Sunday before moving to Islamabad. Former tehsil nazim Haji Abdur Rehman was also present. The former chief minister said the PTI government had so far failed to approve annual developmental plan for the province. He said that the PTI government had no vision and plan to run the government and that Chief Minister Pervez Khattak was powerless due to interference of party chief Imran Khan in the affairs of the government. -Correspondent
