2015-10-21
RAWALPINDI: Two suspicious persons were arrested on the charge of making a video of a highly sensitive imambargah located in the New Town area on Tuesday.

After their hometown addresses the suspects provided to the police turned out to be fake, the two men were shifted to an undisclosed place where three police teams were investigating them.

Imambargahs and majalis have been categorised by the law enforcement agencies in `A`, `B` and `C`. The worship places put in the category `A` have a high level terror threat perception.

Tight security had already been put in place for Imambargah Mohammadi Masjid, which was included in category, `A`.

When City Police Officer (CPO) Israr Ahmed Abbasi was contacted, he said the two suspects were being questioned.

`It would be too early to say anything about the fate of the two arrested suspects as three police teams are investigating them,` he said.

Meanwhile, the police foiled an attempt to carry out an illegal and unauthorised Muharram procession in Sadiqabad.

The organiser of a women majlis was booked by the Airport police for violating the ban on the use of loudspeaker. The Sadigabad police registered a case against the organiser of another procession which was brought out without permission.

The CPO said he had ordered the registration of a case against the organiser who tried to bring out a procession from Imambargah Qasr-i-Sajjad in Sadigabad. Mohammad Asghar
