LARKANA: Sindh`s Inspector General of Police Riffat Mukhtar Raja has transferred Khanpur DSP Mir Mehdi Raza Talpur without citing any reason and directed him to immediately report to Central Police Office, Karachi, it was learnt here on Friday.The IGP`s move came on the heels of a startling press conference held by the DSP in his office on Thursday in which he had launched a volley of allegations against the Shikarpur SSP Khalid Mustafa Korai.

He particularly asserted that the SSP had no role in the safe recovery of the five police personnel, including SHO of Kot Shahu police station, who were kidnapped by a gang of dacoits after attack on the police station on Oct 12.

The credit went to Larkana range DIG Javed Soonharo Jiskani who ensured safe recovery of the hostages from the clutches of kidnappers, the DSP claimed.

DIG Jiskani had on Thursday constituted a three-member committee headed by SSP KashmoreKandhkot Mir Rohail Khan Khoso to look into the row between the Shikarpur SSP and Khanpur DSP and prepare a report, said a spokesman for the DIG.

The report of the committee, which had Gahri Khairo DSP Tsufeeg Ahmed Sadhayo and Ratodero DSP Javed Ahmed Shaikh as members, would later be forwarded to the IGP for further action, he said.
