Saving Moenjodaro

2016-11-21
ACCORDING to reports appearing intermittently in newspapers, the Sindh cultural department was planning to save and protect Moenjodaro, the symbol of the world`s ancient civilisation and cultural heritage of Sindh. In the past also, efforts had been made by Unesco, federal and provincial governments to protect this heritage, but the result was zero.

Itis unfortunate thatthere are no facilities in Moenjodaro for local and foreign visitors. There are no bathrooms, shelters, restaurants, no proper streetlights, phones and the internet. There are no research halls and libraries or family halls.

If the government wants to make Moenjodaro a tourist destination, it should provide basic facilities for tourists` stay and their visit to the site. There should be special flights for Moenjodaro from Friday morning to Sunday evening. There should also be provisions for tourist buses.
