One unfortunate example is the housing scheme made and donated by the then prime minister and now President of Turkey Erdogan to the flood-affected shelterless people of Thatta following the devastating floods of 2010.

No fewer than 2,100 houses built at a cost of Rs3bn have been lying in a sorry state since 2013 with most of their structure and fixtures scavenged ruthlessly.
