Man working at beauty salon in woman`s guise held

TOBA TEK SINGH: Jaranwala city police claimed to have arrested on Sunday a young man in a woman`s guise, working as a beautician at a beauty salon and allegedly involved in `immoral activities` Complainant Assistant SubInspector (ASI) Zafar Khan stated in the FIR registered undersecdons420 and354 ofthe Pakistan Penal Code (PPC) that a Constable, Faisal Jan, informed the police that the suspect, identified as Arsalan, a resident of Ghazi Townlocality of Jaranwala, would dress like a woman anduse make-up while working as a `female` beautician at a beauty salon located near the City Post Office.

As per the FIR, the suspect would also indecently touch the unsuspecting female clients visiting the salon while doing their make-up etc. It was also alleged that the suspect was doing all this in connivance with the woman owning the salon.

Acting on the information, the police raided the salon and arrested Arsalan, while he was working in the salon in the guise of a woman. The salon owner managed to escape, the FIR said.

ARRESTED: Mochiwala police claimed to have arrested a`robber` wanted in more than two dozen robbery cases by different police stations, after he was injured in the `firing by his own accomplices` during an encounter early on Sunday near Gojra Morr, Jhang.

Jhang police spokesperson said that on being informed by locals that three robbers were looting passersby and snatched a motorcycle from a man, a Mochiwala police team reached the spot.

On seeing police, the robbers fled the scene and took positions in a sugarcane field, from where they started firing on the police.

The police retaliated, ensuing crossfire that lasted for some time.When the firing from the criminals` side stopped, the police entered the field and found one of the alleged robbers lying injured there, while his accomplices had already fled.

The police shifted the injured man to the district headquarters hospital.

According to police, the injured criminal was identified as Abid Hayat Naul, who was wanted in more than two dozen robbery cases registered in different police stations in Jhang district.

The police spokesperson claimed Naul was injured after receiving bullets fired by his own accomplices and raids were beingconducted to arrest the fleeing criminals.

FUNDS APPROVED: Faisalabad District Welfare Fund Board has approved Rs90.49 million funds under the heads of educational scholarships and marriage grants for the wards of 3,528 serving and retired non-gazetted government employees.

The board meeting presided over by Hheadquarters ADCG Kashif Raza Awan was informed by Superintendent Tariq Mahmood that of the approved funds, Rs60.71m will be delivered as scholarships to 2,910 sons and daughters of the employees.
