KARACHI: A young man was shot at and wounded by armed robbers over putting up resistance on Superhighway, police said on Sunday.
The SITE-Superhighway Industrial Area police said that Abdullah Faisal, 21, was intercepted by armed muggers near a bus stop at Bengali Mor and tried to snatch cash and valuables from him. As he offered resistance, one of the muggers fired at him and rode away.
Man shot dead
An Edhi Foundation spokesperson said that Mohammed Riaz, 45, was gunned down while Irshad Ahmed, 35, wounded near Sunday Bazaar at Nasir Jump.
The dead and injured were taken to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre for treatment.
A suspected robber was shot at and wounded in an alleged encounter with police in Ibrahim Hyderi on Sunday.
Police said that an encounter took place between police and robbers at Rehri Road.—Staff Reporter
