Stalls featuring Punjab`s history displayed at Royal Palm

LAHORE: The provincial archaeology and museums department and the Tourism De velopment Corporation Punjab, in collaboration with the provincial government ,organised a cultural event as part of the Lahore Lahore Aye festival.
The event commenced on Monday with the inauguration conducted by Punjab Tourism Secretary Muhammad Asif Bilal Lodhi at the Royal Palm Golf and Country Club. It will continue till 24th of the current month.
Various stalls featuring displays from the TDCP`s institute of tourism and hotel management, the directorate of archaeology, Technical Education and Vocational Training Authority (Tevta), Punjab small industries were set up along with other exhibitors.
Highlighting Punjab`s rich history and culture, six distinct pavilions were erected to depict different eras of the province, such as the Indus Valley Civilisation, the Sikh period, the Mughal era, the British Raj, and Modern Punjab, presented through captivating screenings.
A variety of traditional and contempo-rary food stalls were available to cater to attendees` comfort and culinary delights.
Children were fascinated by puppet and magic shows, followed by an iconic presentation of Pakistan`s history in the form of Minar-iPakistan, crafted as a memorable story for both children and adults alike.
A play Anarkali was also perfromed, encapsulating the Mughal era in which the actors kept the audience completely engrossed.
The mesmerising performance by renowned Sufi artist Saeen Zahoor left all participants enchanted.
Secretary Asif Bilal Lodhi expressed his commitment to continuously collaborate with the Punjab government, ensuring ongoing recreational opportunities for the public.
T he Lahore Lahore Aye festival, running through November, promises a remarkable time for all, serving as the perfect familyfriendly occasion.
The secretary emphasised that the event, extending until Nov 24, will feature diverse dramas, storytelling sessions, and Sufi performances, catering to both children and adults, offering afresh perspective on history and culture.
