SUKKUR: Harsh chilly weather on Tuesday claimed first life at the Dera Morr camp near Kashmore as a stalemate over rehabilitation of Dera Bugti residents in their hometown continued on the fourth day.
Over 50,000 tribesmen have been made to stay in and around the camp for want of a green signal from the federal and Balochistan authorities to allow them into Balochistan and resume their journey to Dera Bugti.
Talks between the Kandhkot-Kashmore district administration and Shah Zain Bugti, who led the caravan of hundreds of vehicles carrying the displaced tribesmen to their hometown, have failed to end the stalemate.
The tribesmen have been staging a sit-in around the camp blocking the highway and other thoroughfares since Saturday.
While the tribesmen are running short of food, medicines and other essentials of life, a man identified as Lohar Bugti died after falling ill due to cold weather.
According to Shah Zain Bugti, the personnel posted at Dera Morr were asking each of the returning tribesmen for valid permission to enter Balochistan.
`Dera Bugti is our hometown situated within our country... we are not foreigners... we need not seek any permission to move anywhere within our own country,` he argues.
