Hurs cleared

HYDERABAD: Satisfactory progress has been made in clearing Hurs from the desert area, it is learnt from an of ficial source.

Several hundreds of Hurs have been captured from the Hurries (hiding places) and operations against Hurs are in progress in the lake and forest of Makhi.

Following the capture of the Hurs in the Hurries, the Martial Law authorities have opened two camps in Sanghar which are partly refugee camps in which about 3,000 Hur women and children are lodged. These Hur women are the wives of Hurs arrested by the military and have no one to take care of them and have taken refuge in the camps while others who are suspected of assisting the Hurs in their unlawful activities are also lodged in the camps. The movement of such women is restricted.

[Meanwhile, in London] It is officially announced that 13 enemy aircraft were destroyed by R.A.F. fighters today [Jan 21] over south-east England and the Channel.
