GUJRAT: Assistant Commissioner Ahsan Mumtaz on Saturday foiled a bid to illegally sell the subsidised flour bags in open market at a mart.

The AC sealed the mart and its wearhouse whereas both the owners were arrested by the police after registration of a case against them.

On a tip off, the AC along with his teaminspected a mart in city`s Muslimabad locality and found the bags of subsidised flour meant to be sold to the needy people on cheap rates but it was being sold at commercial rates. The official team later on inspected the wearhouse of the mart andrecoveredthebagsof subsidised flour.

Police have registered a case against the owners on the report of district administration and also arrested them.
