Rs100 fare dispute leaves man dead, father injured

TAXILA: In a tragic incident, a furious rickshaw driver allegedly stabbed a man to death and injured his father over a mere Rs100 fare dispute in the Awan Sharif area within the limits of Attock City police station on Tuesday.

Police sources, while quoting the survivor and witnesses, said Mohammad Munir along with his son Kashif Munir rode a rickshaw from the general bus stand to Awan Sharif locality.

After reaching the destination, the rickshaw driver asked for more than the agreedfare.

Resultantly, the two sides exchanged heated arguments and the rickshaw driver along with another companion attacked them with a dagger, sources said.

The suspects managed to escape the scene after carrying outthe attack.

The injured were shifted to District Headquarters Hospital where Kashif succumbed to his injuries while his father`s condition was stated to be critical.

The body of the deceased was handed over to the heirs for burial after autopsy.

Attock police registered a case against the rickshaw driver and his companion and launched a manhunt, sources said.
